Don’t Stop Shining - A Short Fairytale about You.
I laid out on the grass tonight looking up at the night sky. 🌃
As I was gazing,
A tiny red dwarf star fell into my lap…
She started pacing back and forth repeating:
“I AM LOVE,
I AM LIGHT,
I AM SO POWERFUL,
I AM SO MAGICAL,
I AM SO CAPABLE,
I AM SO WORTHY,
I TRUST IN THE DARKNESS,
I AM LOVE,
I AM LIGHT,
I AM LIMITLESS,
I AM THAT I AM.”
I eventually said, “Hello Little One ? Who are you?”
Her name was Lila. 🎇
Lila sat on my chest looking into my eyes.
All of sudden she started to speak again!
Blabbing on and on!
She told me of a cloud named Theodore who she was having major ‘shade’ with.
....Theodore in her words was ‘a mean ol’ cloud who was always trying to block the sun, the stars and the moon from shining!’
I watched her for many moments…
I had the biggest smile on my face.
She made me so happy.
I could feel the light she brought into my life for just that voided moment.
So, I could only imagine the entertainment and magic she brought to the night sky. 🌌
After witnessing her beauty,
I sat up and asked her to come with me.
She was so cute as she began to bippity bop around my drive way.
I opened my garage
And, I asked her to come in.
Lila followed me.
A second later I asked if it would be okay if I closed the garage.
She looked at me confused and said, ‘Okay Cass...?’
The garage shut,
the lights turned off.
I walked over to this little side window in the corner and said,
‘Can you look out of this window for a moment?’
Lila walked over and peered out.
I said, ‘look up.’
Theodore was right above the backyard ☁️
Lila turned to me and said,
‘I don’t get it Cass, how does he know where I am?’
I smiled and said;
‘You see Lila, even through the darkness you have managed to illuminate the sky even on your most challenging of days.
Even when you fell you never stopped being the beautiful, corky and bright YOU! 🎇
You never stopped shining.
No matter how many Theodores there are, you must always trust that the world will always see your light as long as you stay true to you.
Lila looked deeply into my eyes and smiled.
She jumped up on my shoulder and whispered in my ear;
“Thank you for reminding me.”
Lila and I opened the garage and walked out onto the grass.
As I kneeled down to lie back on my blanket,
I turned to see that Lila was gone.
That evening I watched Theodore slowly drift away into the night sky.
Years later I hiked up one of the largest mountains in the world.
As I stood on top of this mountain, I thought about how proud I was for everything I had accomplished in my life.
I stood there taking in the most enchanting views I had ever seen.
Moments later I noticed this cloud starting to come towards me.
This cloud looked so familiar…
It was Theodore.
At one point he started to surround me and eclipse my view.
In that moment i thought about my friend Lila.
I closed my eyes and started saying:
“I AM LOVE,
I AM LIGHT,
I AM SO POWERFUL,
I AM SO MAGICAL,
I AM SO CAPABLE,
I AM SO WORTHY,
I TRUST IN THE UNKNOWN,
I AM LOVE,
I AM LIGHT,
I AM LIMITLESS,
I AM THAT I AM.”
Then,
I opened my eyes.
Only to see my friend Lila lighting my way through the haze.
I smiled.
Theodore was gone.
And, all that was left was the perpetual bliss of that moment.
All that was left was
Little me.
Lila taught me;
You don’t stop shining just because someone is intimidated by your light.
You keep reminding yourself of who you are.
And,
You keep shining.
